Dear akhee/ukthi fid deen,
Islam abolished colour, race and nationality - this is a kafir trait to process and group people.
Let us come back to the real Islam and avoid such labelling inshAallah. edited by administrator on 12/12/2009 edited by administrator on 12/12/2009

no we are not past this issue because there is still racism in islam perpetrated by all races in islam.
you still have white sisters that don't want to marry an african american and likewise you have arab and pakistani women who feel the same.
just because a person takes the shahadah doesn't mean the drop the stigmatisms that they had before islam
look at the time of the prophet when they were still cursing zaid so no there may be no racism in the religion but some of the adherents are still carrying stigmatisms of racism around with them when they entered into the religion

Sadness that the brother mentioned reverts only as white...well I guess that excludes everybody, cause nobody's skin color is truely white anyway...maybe pale pinkish or yellowish or deep tan or brown or whatever...but did you ever really see white skin Look at the white in this page and tell me your skin is that color! Oh well it's all silly, thought this discussion would underscore that! Take care all you sisters and brothers of all colors and have a great Ramadhan! Salaams.

well if you cant call them white, then what are gonna call them? then your not gonna say hey"look at the pale sister over there"Or "hey im a pale revert" saying white is just a way of describing those type of people.white, black etc.

I came to islam by meeting an egyptian friend online who told me about his religion. Then I read some things online about it. Then I bought a quran. I was in a mental hospital when I read the whole quran for the first time. It seemed to heal me. It was the reason I converted to islam.

I myself was asked if i'd ever consider studying Islam and me being a curious person asked a friend if she could lend me some books to read Alhumdullilah Allah captured my heart and i just couldn't stop reading two months on i took my shahada (two weeks ago) and i've never been happier i've found my inner peace only thing left now is to find a decent practicing muslim to share my life with on the straight path :-) :-)
