salam alikam and thank you dear sister for the heads-up. There are many frauds and cons who troll the net looking to rip-off good people, and will stoop to any level.

Salams i agree with the frauds which take place at net regarding marriages. I like to discuss one fraud which took place with me at one matrimonial website regarding the selection of life partner.[ mehndi.com.] After i chatted with him at that website and after several calls and chatted at yahoo messenger he insisted that i send him present for his sister's marriage, which i did thinking that he is decent person. After that he insisted that he should meet me.He lived in Gujar Khan [ one city of Pakistan ] and i live in Karachi [ another city. ] I myself received him at the railway station. I was living alone in my flat. He went away in evening . He stolen 2 expensive cell phones from my flat. I registered complaint at police station but nothing could be done. So sisters be aware of the fake people .

The last man that I met online is a British man who is a high risk child offender. I have met many african men pretending to be white americans or british and then try asking for money. There are so many scams. Its hard to find a real man online.

salaamu alaikum sisters,

so sorry to hear about the kinds of things that have been going on, on these sites. it's really a shame, but i think that in a lot of cases the men who pull off these kinds of lies only feel able to do so because they ascertain that the women (us) are alone in the world, or alone in trying to meet and marry someone. if a women is hiding her involvment with these kinds of websites then the man knows that with no one in her corner he might have an easier in. get your male family memebers involved. we are muslim and still need to go through checking out what a person say's. the technology we have is beautiful, and opens up doors that would have otherwise remained closed. ( like how else could there be successful meet and marry situations) when the 2 ppl have never met physically, except by the internet. it's a tool in our search for suitable mates. but it does not stop @ what a person say's. we have to be more caring for our own selves than that. research the man, his back ground. have him talk to your male family members repeatedly, ask for proofs for things you are unsure of and don't be shy to do so. it's your life, your future, and your potential sorrow and regrett that is on the line(if you don't).

lastly NEVER- EVER- EVER. meet up with a man alone and take him to your house much less. please!!!!! the sister who did that , please never do it again. it ended up that only cell phones were missing, but it could have very easily been something more ( your life/ your chastity) that isnt as easy as cell phones to replace. may ALLAH ALMIGHTY, give us all suitable mates, love success and magnified deen. and to him we all will return. amin.

Assalamualaikum Sisters,

I just joined this site less than a month and i almost being fooled by someone who claimed he was a british, at the first time i talked to him i dont beleive him cos he has bad english. I know the way british speak, but this guy doesnt even know the grammar, so i was really careful, i didnt trust everything he said, i was just wanted to know what he wants.

And yes, he tried to fool me telling me he loves me and son, and he said he wants to visit me in June an marry me. He phoned me many times, convinced me if he was serious, and then he said he wanted to send me money, cos he said he cares of me.
I was really careful becos he wanted to send money about 300,000.00 USD, i knew it was just a lie, he tried to convinced me if he already deposit the money, and he said i have to do everything the bank people says to me, to get the money.

Then someone called me pretended if he was a person from the bank, telling me to fill the form, and he said after i fill the form the money will sent to the branch office in Malaysia, and i did what he said, i wanted to know where these all would lead, a few days later someone from Malaysia called me if i have to check my emai, and i saw in my email theres a site i could check about my deposit, i was laughing so hard because i noticed they were not good enough to fool me, so when they asked me to send them money about 2000 USD through Western Union to process the transfer from their bank to my private bank, then i knew they were just scammers, they tried to get the money by fooling the women who needs love and guy, they take advantages of the women like that, its really bad, hope Allah will punish them cos if the women not smart enough, they will be easy to be fooled, and yes the scammers have team who lives in UK and Malaysia.

So sisters, please be careful, dont let this kind of guys fool you, if u really need a man, you need to know them more, dont be easy to trust anyone online, the scammers tries everything to fool you for money.

You have to know onething, if they ask you to send them money through Western Union or MoneyGram, thats mean they are Scammers, cos they can get the money so easy from the Western Union, they can fake their names and address.

Hope Allah bless you all.

There are some men out there that are even worse and they are the liers.
I recently met a man on here muhammad abdul tawab
he is married, and claims he is single.
He courts a lady very nicely with many words, then was asking in regards to a job or to live near you.
When confronted that he is married he backed off and pretended that he did not know me to defend his wife.
He was only trying for a job or a visa, even though he says he is not.
It is usually the man who repeatedly says visa is not his intention when it is.

women we must watch for the ones that seem very true and loving, they are the worst of wolves in sheeps clothing.

always use search and check his name and email ids,
check facebook,
always ask to speak to his family members,
always see him on cam,

these are ways to help protect us from the ones with false purpose.

Salam aleikum sisters,i just joined this site and i'm very grateful i came here first to hear your views. May almighty Allah reward everyone of you for opening up to tell your unfortunate experiences. One has to be very vigilant in everything he does. I've had my own experiences which are somehow the same with what I've read here, though i didn't fall a victim since money wasn't taken from me but when these things happen to you, it leaves you feeling hopeless, your time wasted and most of the time confused;because you actually changed some of your future plans just to make the relationship work.

Its so painful when all you're looking for is a good responsible man,who is God fearing and may not necessarily be rich to be your husband and all you get is more of your time being wasted,by the wrong ones. My prayer for us is that we use this forum to tell ourselves the men to avoid in this site (just like the sister that mentioned the name of one above),so that we can flush them out and we'll all eventually insha Allah get good husbands.

Don't loss hope, the good men are also having problems finding a good woman and they will soon find you insha Allah.
Salam

salam alaykum, sisters please calm down, in every Islamic effort especially in the UK you are going to get some hiccups. But in general this is a very good muslim website. Ofcourse your going to get the scammers and fakers, but there are also many good brothers and sisters on here. Please dont go deffaming the efforts of the website producers just because you had a bad experience.

Signs that you are being scammed
by Stealth on Mon Oct 22, 2012 5:37 pm

1) they contact you, claiming to be from the US, UK, Canada, Australia, Western Europe
2) their English sucks, though they claim to be the native English speakers and they say "am" instead of "I am"
3) they give you their email or Yahoo ID in the first 1-2 messages and want to get off-site and chat on messenger
4) they are widowers, their wives died in the horrible car or plane crashes, they raise "a kid" alone, or (if they are females) they are recovering from a bad relationship with a cheating ex.
5) they chat with you, send love letters (stolen from elsewhere and easily googled), sometimes send little gifts, purchased with stolen CC
6) they talk to you on the phone and sound bloody African, but you think it's a sexy "Italian" accent.
7) women send you nude pictures, you can bet they are stolen from porn sites
8) often, they propose you marriage or promise to marry you
9) they even send you "documents": bad photoshopped passports and stuff
10) you are hooked, you are in love

Assalamu Alikum my dear sisters,

I am very new to online matrimony. i have been on this site less than two weeks. i am glad to see that we sisters have a place where we can support and protect each other Alhamdulilah. here is the address of a man:mohammed_madrid. He contacted me and was very quick in proposing marriage. i felt a certain degree of uneasiness about that. so i told him that i want to live with him in his country( morroco) if we get married. He said he agrees but it would be better that we come to the USA to work then returned. In the long run am just convinced that he just want a have a port of entry in the USA not marriage It has been am impression from message that i have received from men from Morroco, Iran, egypt that there primary goal is to enter the USA rather than finding a wife. So my sister who are American or naturalized American, any sister with American citizenship please beware of men from countries mentioned above, beware of men willing to relocate unless and until you have had concrete proof of them and family member. WIith Love, Smile
